How does the movement of a ball mean so much ?

Whether it's football, rugby, snooker or worst of all, golf, the impact that the movement of a small spherical object can have on the mood of so many people never fails to astound me.

I played golf yesterday. My golf slogan is "remember the good times". That's because there are so few good shots and so many bad ones and therefore the good shots are easier to remember ! When I do happen to hit a good shot I am physically and mentally elevated to a new level of happiness and contentment.

Should Spurs ever get round to beating a decent side, again I will no doubt perceive the world to be a better place.

I really should start raising my expectations on life to being more than the lottery of a missed put or a drive down the centre of the fairway !

A new start

OK that's it. I have finally managed to leave BT after 26 years. I have some money in the bank from the redundancy package but will need to continue working.

This will give me an opportunity to step out of the rat race for a while although I have already started to look for new jobs. It a pleasant surprise that there are some good jobs out there.
